Cynthia Hwang began her career in finance as a business banker at Wells Fargo. She has held numerous leadership positions with Wells Fargo and other national financial institutions over the course of nearly 25 years. In 2018, Cynthia Hwang began her current role as a banker and vice president, having previously served the same company as a senior business relationship manager. Her responsibilities as vice president include new client acquisition, portfolio management, and facilitating communications across different lines of business, such as retail banking and middle market commercial banking.
Ms. Hwang sits on the boards of the Greater Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Eastside Baby Corner. She engages with a number of initiatives that benefit the Asian-American community of the Pacific Northwest, highlighted by her founding of the Asian Wealth Initiative, a banking leader for local Asian-Americans.
Following her time at Mercer Island High School, Cynthia Hwang enrolled in a business administration program at the University of Washington. Her studies as an undergraduate emphasized marketing, international business, and finance. She was an honors student at the university and a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the honor society for financial students and professionals. She also served as a member of the university’s Marketing Club and Business Sales Club. She graduated with her bachelor of arts in 2003 and later conducted masters level work at Gonzaga University.
